God's Promises

Hi Everyone!
Today's Sunday and I'm feeling the Love. I'm doing a card camp for our Ladies Bible Study on Tuesday night. I wanted to keep it easy and fun. And this is super easy and most cute. I am using up some of last years "In Color" since I have a good little stash of it. But you could use any color combination. I'd keep it in the primary or secondary color wheel arena. I used Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss and Tangerine. I used the Swirl Scribble to cut out the "waves" from Tangerine. I just love the zip and to bring the message home, the rainbow brads at the bottom. Super Cute and easy. I have two more to come up with this after noon. I'll keep you posted.

Nouveau Chic Voila Cookbook

As I promised! I made two of these for the boys for their Christmas gift. I like to give one sentimental along with the loot. I plan to put all those homemade recipes they like. I have a few really cute pictures of them to put in as well as photos of relatives that have been long gone. Like the Blackberry cobbler my great grandmother used to make. She'd send us out for hours collecting berries. (Ok... it may have taken hours because we ate most of what we picked and she probably needed a break from all of our chatter.) I'll put a story about berry picking in the woods behind her house and a picture of her with her blackberry cobbler.

I tried to keep the boys cookbook on the masculine side of things. Can't beat black and grey for boys! As I get some of the inner pages done with family photos I'll share a few with you for inspiration. I hope you like it! If you'd like to have a little soiree` we can get together and make one to get you started. Bring a few buddies and we're talking good times! Click on my demonstrator website over to the right and send me a message.

Autumn Days

I saw this sketch and really liked the triangles. They give the feeling of football pennants and the fall. Seemed to go hand in hand with Autumn Days stamp set. Like I said before I'm really trying to use the new In Colors. So I've used Dusty Durango, Bermuda Bay and Soft Suede. I used the thumping technique on the phesant and the leaves and the words...kind of couldn't stop myself! The colors look so much crisper and prettier in real life. Try this one for yourself at home. It will be easy to make up batches of this one to send to all your friends and family who you won't be able to see on Thanksgiving. Let them know how Thankful you are to have them in your life. I'm getting all choked up! sniff...sniff.....

Medallion

Ok..you cannot make a card much easier than this and still have a zap of Wow! factor! I don't think I've seen anything made with this stamp that hasn't captured me. You can make it in just about any color combination and add it to another set and still... wow! This is Bermuda Bay and Crushed Curry. Working hard to adapt to the new "In Color" collection. My daughther got married last August and had these two colors in her wedding. I thought this would make a nice Anniversary card. 1st year gift is paper... lucky for me! Right up my alley. Course I'll have to add some of "Uncle Sams" paper creation as well! It's what moms do right?

Of the Earth

Alright... I'm completely busted. I stole this idea completly down to the colors that were used. The only change I made was slipping in that tiny touch of black. I love this set and tend to over complicate my designs. I needed to ease up a bit for my stamp camps. This one is perfect. It's so gentle even though these colors are outrageous. Crushed Curry and Dusty Durango. Sometimes I look at these new colors and I'm stuck. But when I saw this design I fell in love with it. Hope you like it! If you'd like to place an order please stop by my Stampin Up website. tinawaddell.stampinup.com

Happy Together

I love this set. It's so "Partridge Family"! I am always taking pictures but feel funny just handing over a photo in an envelope. It's so inelegant. So I completly stole this design... I can't even remember where. Sorry. But it was the perfect way to give photos to people that I want to share with. I think this turns sharing just a photo into a gift without having to do a whole scrapbook page to present it. I used Rich Razzleberry and Cottage Wall paper. I'm a little overdoing it on those two combinations. I'm getting ready to break into the Nouveau Chic.

Happy Together inside (Bob!)

Here's the inside tab. I folded a piece of Whisper White so when you pull the tab the photos come up with it. It keeps the photo from being scratched on it's travels. Bob! Who names a baby Bob? Way too cute. He's my nephew and just the most sweetest little boy ever. ...but Bob? Pretty adorable huh?

D is for Dog

I have two little dogs. Barkley and Bosco. They are a bit annoying to others but to me....they're my joy. When I saw this stamp set I had to get it. I'm seeing scrap book pages too. But along with this set I absolutely had to have the "Extreme Elements" set of stamps. I'm in love with them. One stamp looked like a blob of mud...if you have dogs you recognize that shape immediately! I had fun plopping on different combinations of Extreme Elements and could have spent all day just doing that. Combining colors and seeing how they all go together is addicting. But when I put in the doggy in Soft Suede I just knew I hit pay "dirt". This is part of next weeks stamp camp. It was easy and fun to play.

Recipe Book

I'm making recipe books for the kids for Christmas and started with this one for my daughter. I should have most of the family recipes typed and ready by Christmas.

I used Cottage Wall designer Series Paper. I really love this set. It was fun to put together. Each page has a pocket and they are all decorated with all of the papers from this set. There's a pocket that formed between each page. I'll show you the insides when I get closer to Christmas. I'm saving those pockets to put a photograph of the family member who the recipe came from. Or a picture of a family memory for extra fun. Stay tuned to this project. I will be presenting two more books. One for each boy. I think this will make a special gift, one to treasure for generations.

If you would like to get one for yourself let me know when a good date would be and we'll have a little get together and whip up a few. Last Saturday we had a fun group make theirs requests for more. (I think I may be on to something here!)

Recipe Book coming!

I'm cooking up a delicious treat for our next Stamp Camp. We'll be making mini cookbooks with a scrapbook flavor.

My kids have all moved away and now live in Seattle. They keep bugging me for those recipes that we all love. You know... when you're first married and you have the kids there's not much money and you do the best you can with what you have? So you make casseroles and other budget items. Funny how those things seem to be the foods known as "Comfort Food". So I'm finally getting it done.

I'm putting in how to make homemade bread the way my Great Aunt Kate showed me. No written recipe. Can you believe it? This was pre-breadmakers! Spaghetti Recipe with the secret ingredients. (It was shredded carrots and whatever vegetables I could sneak in their diet without them knowing!) Remember "Ants on a Log"? Celery with peanut butter and raisins for "ants"!

If you're hungry for a fun Stamp Camp..... stay tuned for more details.

Wings of Friendship Card Swap

The Wings of Friendship card is something I put together for a card swap. Our challenge was to use our new items from the 2009-2010 Idea Book and Catalog.

Whisper White was folded into a sort of "Z" shape to create the "cage". When that little fold is opened the whole design is visible. BigShotz was used to cut a half circle from the short fold cage and a smaller circle cut from "Bermuda Bay". I used Crushed Curry Cardstock to cut the scallop and the Bird from the Wings of Friendship stamp set. Before I used adhesive to close the "Z" I cut and glued 3 strips of Gold Elastic Cord to create the bars on the birdcage. I used Melon Mambo ribbon and ink for the flower. The flower and the Bird were attached using Stampin Dimensionals. The Whisper White assembly was attached to Bermuda Bay Cardstock to complete the card. Melon Mambo cardstock was cut using the Oval Scallop Punch and Melon Mambo ink for the sentiment.

Fifth Avenue Floral Thank You

This card was so easy. All my Skwerly girls sent me a huge bouquet of flowers from Roberta's parents floral farm in Hawaii. What a fantastic surprise. I really wanted to do something special to say thank you.

The Fifth Avenue Floral Rose was stamped on watercolor paper using clear emboss and then colored with Dusty Durango and So Saffron reinkers. I used Old Olive cardstock through my BigShotz to make the leaves. I hope they like it!

Fifth Avenue Floral Thank You

Here's the inside view. There's a nice little space hidden in the "pot" where you can write your note of appreciation. The "So Saffron Cardstock" slips into the "Dusty Durango Cardstock" that has been folded at the bottom. The "So Saffron" grossgrain ribbon is what holds this together.

Take me to your Leadah!

Oh my! I received my sneak peak UPS delivery of the new catalog and I'm so jazzed! Check out this ultra cute set "Lots of Bots". This next year our stamp camps are really going to kick it up a notch with the fun factor! New colors, new stamps, new ribbons! I'm going to swoon!

Here's one that I whipped up. Couldn't help myself. I have chores to do and places to go... but once I got my hands on this set... I was in the zone!

Check out the new colors and new stamp set available after July 1... that means... yep! You will want to book your chair at the next stamp camp. There are so many other fun items to see!

Punchy Purses

I saw this somewhere on the net and wanted to give it a quick try. I made this in only a few minutes. Super simple. We'll make one similar to this in the next Stamp Camp but we'll zip things up a bit with some new paper. This is just a sneak peak!

Seeing Spots

I couldn't resist the grey and yellow combination. After making the Pink Striped Zebra it was only natural to try a Yellow Spotted Cat!

This weeks Stamp Camp was a hoot!

Here's a few cards from both this weekend's Stamp Camps. Monroe and Seattle. The Seattle Camp was a total zone of coolness right down to the music! For those crazy girls thanks for a fun day. Emily, Heather, Amy, Lindsey, Lauren, Katie, Katy, Marisa and Erica! Talk about a bunch of creative people in one room. Katy and Heather revamped my beach card with a Northwest twist. I was so impressed. I'm going to steal their idea and make one up to show you what they did later this week. And Emily our personal tornado.... what can we say about her creative bent? Except... that it was bent! :) I may have to make a version of her card to show with a public disclaimer! Stay tuned for that.

Enjoy the set and let me know if you're ready for our Father's day theme Stamp Camp in June. A few spaces are available still.

Rustic Rooster

Here's a card I made from one of hostess sets called Rustic Rooster. I found an old button from my sewing jar to add just the right touch. I used Navy emboss to make the rooster. C'mon over to this month's stamp camp and I'll show you how easy and fun this technique is to do. Embossing is one of my favorites.

Just Beachy

For all you watching...here's a little teaser of one card we'll be making for May's Stamp Camp! Kinda puts you in a "beachy" mood doesn't it?
